GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Treatment Team Assistant (TTA) assists in maintaining the patient flow with the center by greeting and escorting patients to the preparation area upon their arrival at the center, answering any non clinical questions, ensuring that clinical questions are addressed by the appropriate clinician, assisting patients with the identification process, gowning, restroom visits, communicating with waiting family members/companions. The incumbent will also be required to assist the treatment team with pre-scheduled treatment room set up, and dismantling set ups. This role requires lifting of heavy treatment equipment, monitoring of an electronic scheduling system, organizational skills, strong team work and effective communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with care team (e.g. RTTs, RNs, device manufacturers, as directed.)
- Greet patients and assist with treatment preparation. Includes identification procedures, assisting in gowning , answering non-clinical questions, referring patient to RTT team lead for clinical questions, restroom visits, communication to waiting family members/companions
- Lifts heavy equipment (e.g. brass apertures ) for various treatment pre scheduled procedures performed in the treatment room
- Assist device manufacturers and physic assistants in transport of accessories for treatment procedures from storage areas into / onto machine
- Act as an escort for patients and equipment between all areas of the treatment center.
- Escort patients into treatment room as needed
- Remove equipment from treatment room when patient finishes treatment course and places in storage area or disposes of as directed by QA physicists
- Retrieve equipment for new patient starts and places in treatment room.
- Neatens dressing area between patients, contacts housekeeping as required

- Strong command of the English language, written and verbal

- Understands and abides by the regulations on patient confidentiality
- Ability to work flexible hours if needed
- Ability to travel for educational / training purposes
- Solid computer skills, including Word and Outlook
- Physical ability to repeatedly lift up to 40 lbs of equipment
- Physical ability to reach 5 feet above the floor
- Ability to push supply carts or equipment
- Able to stand for entire shift if required
- Visual and auditory ability
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma required.
- Medical assistant training certification or training in the medical field in another area such as patient transport, nursing assistant or equivalent a plus
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Reports any process improvement opportunities to RTT Team Lead/Other managers as appropriate
- Informs Manager of required resources for budgeting purposes.
